Meet Naan - like the bread , but even better, because she’s scrumptiously filled with resilience & love and is our latest adoption sponsoree!

A truly special 5 year old 55 lb of perfection, Naan has had a rocky start and has been victim to a “disability” that is anything but that. Thanks to Runaways Animal Rescue, she dodged a deadline euthanasia list, not because of anything she did, but because she was suffering from severe stenosis of her ear canals. Runaways immediately got her the care she desperately needed, including a TECA (Total Ear Canal Ablation) surgery to relieve her pain.

Although surgery made a world of difference, Naan’s long-untreated condition has likely left her permanently deaf. She might require a follow-up TECA procedure down the road (which will be provided at no cost) and while her hearing remains uncertain, her incredible spirit is a sure thing. Naan is a joyful, affectionate soul who is happiest when she’s part of the action. She still has that charming puppy energy and is polishing her manners, but her heart is pure gold.

To Naan, being deaf isn’t a disability, it’s her special-ability which is why we sponsored her adoption. Shortly after, we are overjoyed to share that Naan is now being spoiled with love in her forever home!
