We were actually shared Okra's story from Raleigh’s Dad, knowing he was the perfect pup for us to help next. 

Okra was found under a trailer with his siblings in south Texas and when Sanctuary Park Rescue went to help them, with his cheerful, loveable soul, Okra was the only pup to come out and greet his rescuers. They noticed his hip was protruding and x ray's show it is likely an old injury from being hit by a car, a very sad but common issue in that area.

After seeing Sanctuary Park Rescue in Brownsville, Texas hosting a raffle fundraiser, Do Like Raleigh Roo Foundation had the privilege of being a small part of Okra's story and cover the remaining cost for his much needed amputation to provide him a pain free life.

The best part about Okra's story? He will be graduating from shelter life! He has already found his forever family and will be heading home after his surgery!
