Walle

Walle is a North American River otter who was illegally taken in as a pet at a young age. After natural aggressive behavior developed, he was transferred to the Clearwater Marine Aquarium as he was deemed non-releasable due to habituation to humans.

Walle has already surpassed the average life span of his species at 15 years old, but suffers from hind limb paralysis due to the natural progression of arthritis.

Thanks to the incredible care he receives, Walle is still thriving in an adapted habitat and he wanted to share this snuggle snapshot of the new blanket his caretakers were able to provide him through the foundation’s contribution.

We love seeing you beat the odds, Walle.
